Learning Style Survey

Im more of a visual and auditory learner. I learn better when something is demonstrated to me, then I can get it right the first time or when i hear it. For example if i have to learn how to do something i learn best when i watch someone show me how. Most likely when i write i often say the letter and words to myself to better understand what I'm writing and to make sure my spelling is right. So I agree with the learning style survey and what the results were.

Themes

The theme of Pinocchio is to set a good example of “lying”. This is a good example because once you lie, you’ll get used to telling that same lie or you will tell many others. Once you tell one lie, you have to tell many other lies to equal the first lie you told. In Pinocchio as many lies he told his nose grew longer and longer. So the moral is to never tell a lie because it can and will catch up with you. Present or future it will be hard for people to trust anything you say and the feeling of being untrustworthy doesn’t feel good.

The Devil and Tom Walker

 I can infer that Tom doesn't care for his wife. The author indirectly stated " he even felt something like gratitude towards the black woodsman who considered had done him a kindness". I also infered that Toms wife was a mean woman.He indirectly said " Toms wife was a tall termagant, fierce of temper, loud tongue and strong of arm". He also said that she is greedy about being wealthy, " all her avarice was awakened at the mention of hidden gold & she urged her husband to comply with the black mans terms & secure what would make them wealthy for life."

     I can infer that old snatch was the devil because of the way the author described the character. The author indirectly told us by saying " He was dressed in a rude,half indian garb, and had a red belt or sash swathed round his body,but his face was neither black nor copper color, but swarthy and dingy and begrimed with soot, as if he had been accustomed to toil among fires and forges." But he failed to to leave out " he scowled for a moment at tom with a pair of great red eyes."

Mary E. Phillips Dresscode

         I have mixed feelings towards the Mary E. Philips dress code. A reason I like the dress code is because it is easier to find clothes in the morning without having to rush. The dress code is too plain and there’s not enough colors to choose from so those are my reasons for disliking it.

         

          With me having to wake up earlier than usual the uniforms plays a big part, so I can get that extra 15-20 minutes of sleep and not take all morning choosing. Days I wake up late I won’t have to worry about what I’m wearing. The biggest reason why I like the dress code is because for school I rather wake up and throw on a plain tee anyway. Any pair of kicks I got can go with colors.

          Reasons why I dislike the dress code is because the colors are too gloomy and there are not enough colors to choose from especially with the pants. I strongly dislike only having the choice of wearing khaki bottoms, there should be at least be two different colors. The uniforms are too plain, I feel as if the colors should be whatever the school colors are or something with a little more color.

          Not being able to wear different color jackets or sweaters is another reason I dislike Mary E. Phillips dress code. If we could wear any color jacket, it would make the uniform look way better. Being able to spice up the dress code would give us a little way to express ourselves. So this causes me to go out & buy more when i already have. 

          Mary E Phillips dress code is okay but then again I'm going to always have mixed feelings towards it . The dress code helps because I'm not a morning person. But sometimes i wake up and be wanting to show out and this is why i dislike it.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

The theme of The Boy Who Cried wolf shows that when you continue you to lie, even when you try to tell the truth nobody will believe you. This is also a real life lesson because if you constantly lie, you can't be taken serious and nor will people trust you. So this story showed how far lying can take you and how just you should always just be honest and up front.
